Medjugorje is a small town with a temperate climate in Bosnia and Herzegovnia, a country near Croatia and Serbia. This unlikely town tucked away in such a small country has become a point of pilgrimage for millions of Catholics since the early 1980's.
Since the apparitions began in 1981, over 40 million people of all faiths, from all over the world, have visited Medjugorje and have left spiritually strengthened and renewed. Countless nonbelievers and physically or mentally afflicted, have been converted and healed. Everyone -regardless of Faith- should make the journey with an open mind to Medjugorje as others have.
The origin of Our Lady of Medjugorje is as follows:
On June 25, 1981, in the mountain village of Megjugorje, Our Lady appeared to six children. She identified herself as the Blessed Virgin Mary - Queen of Peace. She continues to appear to these young children - now adults. Her mission is to promote peace with God and mankind through her son Jesus. Our Blessed Mother's own words to the children were, "I have come to tell the world that God exists".
Since the apparitions began in 1981, approximately 40 million people of all faiths, from all over the world, have visited Medjugorje and have left spiritually strengthened and renewed. Many bring back stories of miracles in the form of healings (of mind, body and spirit), supernatural visual signs, and deep conversions back to God. Everyone deserves the opportunity to investigate with an open mind and hear the messages which are given to us by Our Lady of Medjugorje.
